Charlie has been spent the past five years performing his critically acclaimed stand-up to sold-out audiences world-wide. In 2004, he embarked on the national
"I'm Rich Bitch"
comedy tour, featuring fellow
"Chappelle's Show"
cast members Bill Burr and Donnell Rawlings. His stand-up continued with the sold-out tour,
"Charlie Murphy and Friends"
as well as a co-headlining tour with Mike Epps. More recently, Murphy co-headlined on the 20-city
"Maxim/Bud Light Real Men of Comedy Tour"
with Joe Rogan and John Heffron.
Charlie has been performing for 18 years, working with actors such as
Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Eddie Murphy, Danny Aiello, Terrance Howard, Gabrielle Union, Queen Latifah, Vanessa Williams, Rip Torn, Peter Falk, Redd Fox, Angela Bassett, Wesley Snipes, Jamie Foxx, Samuel Jackson
and
Sammy Davis, Jr.
Murphy became a household name when he joined the cast of the three-time Emmy-nominated "Chappelle's Show" creating
'Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories'
. Feature films have included
"A Perfect Holiday", "Kings Ransom," "Roll Bounce,"
Chris Rock's hip-hop parody classic
"CB4"
, Spike Lee's
"Jungle Fever"
and
"Mo' Betta Blues,"
Eddie Murphy's
"Harlem Nights"
and
"Vampire in Brooklyn,"
for which Charlie was also credited as a writer. Murphy's latest writing endeavor,
"Norbit"
opened at #1 at the box office. Additional writing credits include a remake of
"The Incredible Shrinking Man"
and
"Paper Soldiers"
for Jay-Z's Rockafella Films. He also wrote
"Tales of the Dogg,"
an animated pilot for Snoop Dogg and MTV. Other recent projects include BET's
"We Gotta Do Better"
, and films such as
"Bar Starz," "Unearthed," "Night at the Museum," "Twist the Cap,"
and
"Garbage Men."
This Spring, Charlie is co-starring with Al Shearer in the comedy
"Junior and Freddy"
